MakeUp, Hair, Skincare and Parfume

01. Context

A beauty series designed to show how a campaign image can be directed without a location, a physical studio, or a real model available on shoot day. The starting point wasn’t a specific brand, but a craft question: can casting and lighting direction carry the same humanity in a designed skin as in a photographed one?

02. Approach

The model is an original creation, directed with the same criteria used to direct a real person: casting for features, gesture and gaze before appearance. The palette was kept deliberately cool — silver, grey, denim — to move the series away from the warm, crowd-pleasing register typical of commercial beauty, and closer to a more editorial, restrained language. The challenge wasn’t technical. The goal wasn’t to solve how close to reality the image could get, but something simpler and harder: making the skin, light and gaze read as human before they read as generated. That’s where the real work of direction lives, with a camera or without one.

03. Outcome

A coherent series, held together by a single casting direction sustained over time, ready to function as a high-end beauty campaign — skin, light and colour held to the same standard as a physical production, without needing a location, a crew or a contracted model.
